Sunday 1 September 2013, Dubai - Rolls-Royce Motor Cars INTRODUCES second chapter of the One thousand and one Nights GHOST Collection
Rolls-Royce Ghost 1001 Nights Motif
Following the successful launch of the Bespoke collection of Ghost family cars inspired by the incredible tales of ‘The Arabian Nights Entertainment’. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East is launching chapter two of the handcrafted One Thousand and One Nights Ghost Collection.
Carried through to the second chapter of the Collection are the specially created series of two-tone paint schemes, inspired by the warm colour palette of dusk and dawn. The Bespoke shades of two-tone paint are complemented by hand-painted coach lines applied in an elaborate design that elegantly accentuates Ghost’s character lines and culminate in market-individual Arabesque motifs on the boot lid and framing the coach door handles. Perhaps the most striking element of the coachlines is the ‘1000 & 1 Nights’ in classic Arabic calligraphy hand painted on the base of the C-Pillar.
Inspired by Classical Calligraphic forms of Arabic, the Arabesque Motifs are abstract forms evolved by Traditional Arts Designer, Amber Khokhar, from each country’s name in Arabic letters.
The tone of the second chapter in the collection evolves with significant details once inside. The hand crafted Alpine Bull leather customary to Rolls-Royce has been elegantly embroidered with an Arabesque pattern, in addition to an intricately weaved silk pattern to form the centre console armrests front and back. The same pattern is replicated on the silk embroidered rugs. The Arabesque theme is subtle yet elegant thanks to the motif inlays in the door capping and wood panelling. The elaborate lace marquetry within the wood outlines the whole interior and leads to the Navigation Screen Panel which incorporates inlays of each motor car’s market specific Arabesque Motif.
Regarded as one of the region’s most famous works of literature, the epic tales told by Scheherazade to Shahrayar have captivated readers and storytellers for centuries.
Geoff Briscoe, Director Middle East, Africa and Latin America for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said: “Phase one of the One Thousand and One Nights Collection was a very successful Bespoke endeavour that was very well received by our regional clientele. This impressive interest has allowed our Bespoke designers to add much of our customer’s inputs into the second phase and create even more automotive artworks than previously foreseen.”
“Our customer-led Bespoke artists and artisans have made a habit of surpassing every expectation when it comes to the stories told by our individual collection of cars, especially in the Middle East where Bespoke deliveries are at near 100%. This dedication to individuality and customer specific personalisation is fundamental to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.” He Added.
Chapter one of the limited ‘One Thousand and One Nights Bespoke Ghost Collection’ was launched on 28 November 2012. The Final Chapter will follow in the first quarter of 2014.
